DAVID WOHLSTADTER

David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1975. His vision of starting a series of comprehensive summer art programs for young children began 15 years ago when he saw a need for an alternative to traditional summer day camp programs. He brings his creativity, enthusiasm and love of children to each program he created.






ELIZABETH PARAVICINI
Director - Valley Village Campus

Elizabeth is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Learning & Liberal Studies. She received an AA degree from FIDM in Visual Communications, which gave her a passion to pursue her teaching credentials & the Arts. For the past fifteen years she has worked with children of all ages, through enrichment & volunteer programs, tutoring, teaching math & science! She strives in creating positive, loving and creative environment for kids, because she has a great passion for Education and the Arts! She enjoys providing children with leadership opportunities where they can succeed as leaders and grow and individuals. This will be her 14th year at the Art Camp and her 2nd year as Owner! She can't wait for another unforgettable summer!





Elsa Juarez
Art Camp 101 Director

Elsa will be graduating from Cal State
Northridge this upcoming Spring 2016, with
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with
a Minor in Anthropology. She currently works
as a Program Supervisor for the L.A.'s
B.E.S.T After-School Enrichment Program
where she provides a safe environment for
children from Kinder through Fifth grade. She
loves being able to provide an opportunity to
inspire little minds and hearts to do their
greatest. Elsa has been working with kids of
all age groups for seven years and with the
Summer Art Academy for 8 years. She loves
the way that the Summer Art Academy
provides different outlets for children to be
inspired, and is an advocate for children to
find their passion early in life. Elsa is
ecstatic to be leading the Art Camp 101
program this year and can't wait to lead a
safe, fun and memorable environment for
our 5-7 year old campers!




Marie Washington
JCIT/CIT Director

Marie will be graduating with a Bachelor's in Business from LaVerne University in 2017. She recieved her AA degree from LAVC in Art History. She is no stranger to teaching and working with kids of all ages. For the past 10 years, Marie has been a valued member of our Art Camp staff which taught her the importance of patience, organization, communication and teamwork. Maries varied background as a supervisor for young teens in LA's B.E.S.T.program and knowing many of the J.C.I.T.'s and C.I.T.'s at Art Camp from the past, provides her a wonderful starting point as our new Teen Director. Passionate about her new position and its possibilities, Marie can provide a variety of resources that will help our J.C.I.T.'s and C.I.T.s to excel in their training as future counselors and respected staff members at camp!





Aurelio "Yeyo" Esparza
JCIT/CIT Assistant Director

Aurelio or better known as "Yeyo" to the campers is currently working on obtaining his Associate of Arts degree in Sociology from El Camino College. He will be graduating in Spring 2017, and will be transferring to CSUDH to obtain his bachelors. He is currently working at AMC theaters as a Supervisor leading a staff of 30 crew members. His life motto is " Don't wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect". Aurelio started to work as an upper camp counselor in 2012. He then became the counselor for Teen Camp in 2014 where he instantly knew that working with Teens was his passion. He knows how important it is for teens to develop leadership, work ethic and problem solving skills in order for them to be successful later on in life. He is excited to start his new role as Assistant JCIT/CIT Director, and is excited to work alongside Marie this summer!




Matthew Rivera
Office Manager

Matthew is currently working on finishing up
his credits to transfer from Los Angeles
Valley College to Cal State University
Northridge with a Liberal Studies major. His
goal is to receive his BA and credentials to
be an elementary school teacher. Matthew
has a strong passion for teaching and has
worked at an after school program called
Enrichement Educational Experience (E-3)
for two years. He has taught classes such
as geometry, film science, game board
designing, art, volleyball and basketball.
Towards the end of last year Matthew was
hired as an teacher/yard aid at Carpenter
Community Charter Elemenentary where he
assists children with disabilites, handles
teachers' office duties, and provides
supervision for recess/lunch. This is
Matthew's 3rd year as Office Manager with
the Art Camp and he can't wait to see
everyone again!
